"Project management as an instrument with respect to labor market for development and assurance of teaching quality in vocational education" (PIA)

In the operational context, innovative problem solving is increasingly developed in projects, where the realization is secured by project management (PM). So far, this development has been given only little attention in vocational education. In cooperation of the Universität Bremen and the GPM Deutsche Gesellschaft für Projektmanagement (German PM Association) teaching concepts have been developed and numerous times successfully implemented in vocational education. Here, project management is both content and form to secure the quality of project learning.

On the basis of realistic and real project assignments learners get qualified for their future occupation. The aim of the project PIA is both to disseminate the concept within Germany and to transfer it to the partner countries (CH, CZ, PL, SK, TK) in different domains and educational programs. In addition, the competencies and experiences of the partners help to expand the concept in adding the dimension of intercultural competence.

The project is funded by the LEONARDO DA VINCI programme as part of the EU Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP).
